Goma Paste

9 Feb
Writing about all of the Japanese foods I enjoy would be a blog unto itself. Plus, I could not fit all I have to say about particular foods under one ‘Japanese Food’ post. So I will dedicate individual posts to individual foods or meals. They really are deserving of this ! First food I wish to tell you about comes in a small jar and is called ‘goma paste‘. This product is totemo oishii (very delicious) – Goma is sesame. The seeds are ground finely to create a paste, which can be spread on bread or toast. Goma Paste rolls – paste spread in a soft bread roll can be found in super markets for around 100yen. Kids love em. Goma paste can be purchased in two varieties: white and black and is available from most super markets. Something tasty and unique to search for when you visit Japan.
