Caffè Latte’s in Japan

16 Feb

The Japanese people love caffè latte. There are several products available, but one of the most popular is the Mt Rainier brand. Mt. Rainier is actually a subsidery of the Morinaga company and they’ve been around I believe for some forty years. I once heard a rumour that Starbucks were at one time suing them for the logo similarity but this was some time back. Not sure who copied who, as I believe both companies formed around the same time. Mt. Rainier is a mountain in Washington, the state where Starbucks was founded so it’s quite a co-incidence ! Great coffee, by the way, summer or winter and another product to look out for on the supermarket shelf when you visit Japan.
